2017 International Ocean Film Festival SF – Includes Surf Based Series

The 14th annual International Ocean Film Festival in San Francisco is set to  run from March 9 – 11, 2017. This year’s four day schedule is broken down into 12 programs ranging in topic from surfing, to oceanic science, to student competition, to various regional themes.

Program 5, a surfing series, is scheduled for Friday, March 10th. It showcases surf films that range in length from 3 to 58 minutes. Two of the movies in this program, including the trailer below, focus on 18-year-old Australian big wave phenom, Andrew Kaineder.

Films in the surf category include: The Man & the SeaThe AccordBezerkeWay EastForbidden Beach, and Surfers’ Blood.

According to the official website, “The International Ocean Film Festival (IOFF) held in San Francisco inspires people to appreciate and care for the ocean by revealing its wonders through independent films.”

Tickets for the surfing program as well as all other presentations can be purchased through Eventbrite.

All movies will be screened at Cowell Theater, Fort Mason Center, San Francisco.
