“@415Plumber’s Obsession” – A Film About Plastic At Ocean Beach

Plastic pollution in the ocean is a serious problem. According to the 5 Gyres website, “8 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean each year.” Much of this plastic comes from land by way of streams and storm drains that empty into the sea. Litter on the beach also gets washed into the mix, further contaminating our food chain as it breaks down and is ingested by marine life.

The issue is wide-spread but often overlooked or ignored by much of the population. That’s where films like @415 Plumber’s #OB_Plastic Obsession come in. Centered on Ocean Beach, San Francisco and local resident Aaron Hazelwood, it documents a very relatable story about the invasiveness of pollution and how a little creative action can make an impact.

This inspirational story was produced by SeaLevelTV, a project that “reaches past the hype, deep into the hidden corners of ocean-centric culture where the resplendent, vulnerable heart of humanity resides to bring you #saltystoriesofsubstance.”
