International Ocean Film Festival SF – Get Involved

The International Ocean Film Festival  (IOFF) held annually in San Francisco is in its 14th year of operation. The festival features films with themes ranging from conservation to coastal culture to ocean sports and exploration to progressive uses of ocean based technology. IOFF is currently seeking submissions for the film student competition component of the festival with an extended deadline of December 15, 2016.

The IOFF is a non-profit organization designed “To inspire people to appreciate and care for the ocean by revealing its wonders through independent films. Every year we feature a four-day ocean engagement event for audiences from around the world. Through the power of storytelling, filmmakers and the IOFF empower audiences of all ages to become better ocean stewards.”

IOFF also offers a Free Student Education Program that gives students free access to films and Question and Answer sessions with film makers. Registration for the 2017 education program begins February 1st, 2017.

The 2017 film festival is set to run from March 9 – 12, 2017.
